Thought of  sharing my experience on an issue which I encountered recently that took me 10 hrs! to resolve. To be frank, it consumed an entire day just to understand the issue! Here it goes, We all know that the Pages, Lists, Libraries can be shared with other users using the so called "Site Permissions" settings from the "Site Settings" tab or by directly clicking on the "Share" button. The "Site Permissions" settings can be found under the Site Settings->Users and Permissions. To my surprise, the "Site Permissions" page started showing "Something went wrong" along with a correlation id. It has to be noted that, there was no issue in accessing the "Site Permissions" of the root site and all other subsites. The issue was only with this particular subsite. I encountered an issue recently where the Info Path form got published accidentally with improper layout. As we all know that Info Path does not maintain versions and it is impossible to revert to the previous versions.  Luckily I had the back up of the SharePoint list template from where I could open the previous version of the Info path form. Following are the steps I tried to migrate the Info Path form from the back up to the new SharePoint list. 1. Create a new SharePoint list from the list template. 2. Open the newly created list and click on "Customize form" to open the form in Info path designer. 3. Extract the source files by clicking on File->Publish-> Export Source Files. 4. We have an option in SharePoint to export the SharePoint list to an excel.  When a user extracts a report and enable the "user 1904 date system" under Excel Options-> Advanced->When calculating this workbook,  the data columns in the excel would get added by 4 years and 1 day. There is a requirement where the users should be allowed to view only the requests raised by them and a particular SharePoint group members should be able to view all the items. We can achieve it using Rest API but a much simpler approach would be to make use of the OOTB features. 1. Please create a view with filter "Created By" is equal to [Me] and make it as the default view. 2. Now navigate to the list view page. Edit Page. Edit web part and check the option "Disable view selector menu" and save the webpart. This would prevent users from selecting the view. In simple words, the user would be able to see only the list items and not the view tab. Now, how to  make all items view visible to the members of a SharePoint group. Please go to the navigation settings and create a link to navigate to the all items view. Set target audience to the particular SharePoint group. Its done! :)

The global navigation can be handled through the navigation settings in SharePoint. The 'Navigation Settings' can be found under Site Settings->Look and Feel. The Navigation Settings would be enabled only if the 'SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure'   feature is activated.
